When we really begin to live in the world, then we understand what is meant by brotherhood of mankind and not before.
Seventeen years ago a bunch of people came together with an idea to help the “children of lesser God” in acquiring quality education and provide a platform to the budding aspirants in various fields of cultural and social activities.
Thus emerged MEWA (Malanad Educational and Welfare Association) a Public charitable trust registered under Bombay Public Trust Act. After we plunged into this mission we were heartened to observe that there is no dearth of people who are prepared to come forward to serve the cause of society. In order to realize our dream we started a school under the name of VIDYANIKETAN ENGLISH SCHOOL, at Vartak Nagar, Thane.
With the support and encouragement of good Samaritans we could succeed in giving quality education to the children of less fortunate section of our society, who are not otherwise able to get good education for want of sufficient financial capacity to boot the cost of the education.
By natural growth we reached up to S.S.C in the academic year 2008-09. Today we are proud to state that for the last 5 consecutive years we have 100% pass result in the S.S.C Examination. We not only garner the academic interest of the children but also give equal attention to the personality development of each of our children . Our efforts and dedication is appreciated and recognized by the people. We have at present over 1200 students in our muster roll.
We do not receive any aid from the State Government . With our fee structure it is a Herculian task to match the infrastructure necessity for the progress and growth of our mission. We are facing acute problem for want of sufficient space in accommodate our children.
We could sustain and withstand the adversities in our way with the generous help of socially conscious people who considered it as a social obligation to extend their helping hands in our efforts to provide quality education to less fortunate children of our society.
We have recently secured a place on lease at Upavan, Thane. We require to develop the said land and construct a building thereon at the earliest to accommodate our students and for conducting cultural activities.
Our Architect Mr. Bhavesh Patel has prepared a project report. As per his report estimated cost of the project would be around Rs.6 crore (Rupees Six Crore).
We seek your help in surmounting the odds, in our way, to help the poor section of our society. We believe in the words of Swami Vivekananda “He who gives up the little self for the world will find the whole universe his.
